Inspired Home

A little of everything to do with my little country cottage in the woods.

"Home is a place where you can restore your mind, body and soul."

I'm a do-it-yourself, budget savvy chick, as in there is no budget for home decor...LOL! So, I do scavenge items from multiple sources, such as, thrift and junk stores, hand-me-downs, and even the occasional road side treasure. Which means I'm not to proud to rescue items from the trash heap. :-)

"Home is a place to become yourself, to rest and surrender all pretense."

Paint hides a multitude of sins, especially in an older home filled with  found- furniture. It helps when there's an artist in residence that specializes in faux-finishing.

                                                                 Jordan's Room:

"Our homes will only be as generous and nurturing as the effort we invest in them."

Reinvented- Re-purposed...
A home absorbs care-taking like a sponge. All the hours we spend tending to it are never in vain, for everything we give our home, is in turn, given back to us. The same can be said for the re-used items that fill the rooms in my home, each one taking on a new life, reinvented to fill a need, they love me!

"Home is the definition of God."

You can never be to creative when it comes to fixing flaws by using what's at hand.

Bath Room:

"Home is a source of emotional nourishment. It's where you close a door and open your heart."

My family will carry the atmosphere I create in my home for the rest of their lives. I can only hope our home provides comfort & love in abundance, and is a place of restoration of the soul. It should reflect the creativity, serenity, and beauty I hold dear.
